Kuala Lumpur, 26 November 2024 – EDOTCO Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., the national tower infrastructure company, and eMooVit Technology Sdn Bhd, a pioneer in autonomous driving solutions, have formalized a landmark partnership by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at the TowerXchange Meetup Asia 2024. This prestigious gathering, a focal point for the global telecom tower industry, took place at Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur on 26 and 27 November 2024 and was witnessed by YB Fahmi Fadzil, Minister of Communications.

The collaboration aims to redefine Malaysia’s mobility landscape by leveraging EDOTCO’s extensive telecommunications infrastructure and cutting-edge network monitoring tools alongside eMooVit’s expertise in autonomous driving technology. Together, the two companies will implement 5G use cases for autonomous vehicles, including buses, buggies, and other tailored solutions, while identifying strategic locations for deployment and infrastructure development.

A key aspect of the collaboration involves working with 5G network providers to create low-latency environments essential for autonomous driving, as well as engaging federal and state agencies, such as Smart Selangor and MDEC, to promote smart transport and smart city initiatives. Both organisations are equally committed to integrating green initiatives into their collaboration to reduce carbon footprints and support Malaysia’s ambition of achieving net-zero carbon emissions.
