SELANGOR, January 12 - EDOTCO Group has been recognised in the ESG Select List 2025 by UN Global Compact Network Malaysia & Brunei (UNGCMYB) as a 3-Star Lister, reflecting recognition across three categories. The recognition acknowledges EDOTCO’s demonstrated actions and progress in embedding sustainability into its business operations.
Group CEO of EDOTCO Group, Adlan Tajudin said, “Digital connectivity is essential to national progress, and it must be built responsibly. Being recognised as a 3-Star Lister for UN Global Compact Network Malaysia & Brunei’s ESG Select List 2025, reflects how ESG is embedded in EDOTCO’s way of working from how we build and operate, to how we innovate supporting Malaysia’s sustainability ambitions and strengthening inclusive connectivity for communities.”
Executive Director of UN Global Compact Network Malaysia & Brunei (UNGCMYB), Faroze Nadar said, “EDOTCO’s inclusion on the ESG Select List reflects demonstrated sustainability actions supported by measurable outcomes. These efforts highlight practical approaches being taken by companies as Malaysia continues its sustainable development journey.”
ESG Select List categories recognising EDOTCO’s leadership:
• ESG Trailblazer: EDOTCO operationalised Malaysia’s first dedicated EV fleet for telecommunications field maintenance by deploying the Proton e.MAS 7 for heavy-duty tower-site travel, directly reducing Scope 1 emissions in logistics traditionally dominated by diesel vehicles.
• ESG Breakthrough Innovation: EDOTCO introduced the first of its kind Biochar Pole, a low-carbon telecommunication tower alternative using palm-based biochar and ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBS), reducing emissions and acting as a stable carbon sink, marking the first in Kedah with scalability across Malaysia.
• The North Star ESG Target: Became the first tower infrastructure company in Malaysia to secure SBTi validation via its parent company and committed to 42% emissions reduction for Scopes 1 and 2 by 2030.
The ESG Select List, organised by UN Global Compact Network Malaysia & Brunei (UNGCMYB), is a recognition that acknowledges organisations demonstrating leadership and action across defined sustainability categories. Recognition is based on a nomination-based review by the UNGCMYB Internal Technical Committee, with each recognised category contributing one star under the ESG Select List framework.
