Phnom Penh – March 2020: Edotco (Cambodia) Co., Ltd. (“edotco Cambodia”), an integrated telecommunications infrastructure services company in Cambodia, has successful deployed the first carbon fibre pole in the Siem Reap province, reaffirming its commitment to championing sustainable design and innovation.

Phillip Wong, Chief Regional Officer, Asean North, edotco Group said “ Siem Reap is a famous tourist site in the kingdom, where wider and reliable network coverage is seriously required. This new carbon pole structure directly addresses this requirement. It is built with two main benefits: increasing network coverage and reducing visual impact to the environment, which reflects edotco‘s commitment to sustainability and innovation”.

“This new lightweight structure is installed on the rooftop of a building at a height of about 15 meters and does not cause any wear and tear to the building’s structure, which is sometimes a risk in conventional steel structures. It can be installed in a matter of hours, and aesthetically fits into urban planning requirements” he added.

Last year the company announced that it has clocked in a notable carbon emission reduction of 54%, achieving this result one year ahead of target while surpassing the benchmark set by 14%.

As nations accelerate their efforts to meet their digital agendas and the need for seamless connectivity increases, the demand for sharable telecommunications infrastructure with lesser impact to the environment is on the rise. At edotco, sustainability is a core principle that guides the overall business operations as they continue to meet the growing demands for tower infrastructure.

With a relentless focus on green engineering, edotco Group has deployed numerous sustainable design innovations and embarked on an extensive use of renewable energy across its footprint. To date, the company has deployed a total of 35 structures built from alternative materials and equipped a total of 1394 sites with renewable energy.
