Sumedang Launches First Smart Pole with EDOTCO Indonesia as Infrastructure Partner
The first Smart Pole in Sumedang Regency has been launched, marking an important step in West Java’s push toward smarter and more connected communities. Led by the Sumedang Regency Government and PT Alita Praya Mitra, the initiative received support from EDOTCO Indonesia as the infrastructure partner responsible for building and preparing the pole structure for integration with future smart technologies.
The event was attended by Radya Keraton Sumedang Larang Raden Ikik Lukman Soemadisoeria, H. Dony Ahmad Munir, Bupati Sumedang and Dr. Apep Fajar Kurniawan, Special Staff to the Minister of Home Affairs, Joseph Lumban Gaol.
This project reflects Sumedang’s ongoing commitment to digital governance and public innovation; showing how local authorities, technology partners, and infrastructure providers can come together to improve community safety, efficiency, and quality of life.
The Smart Pole initiative is built on partnership. PT Alita Praya Mitra leads the technology design and integration, while the Sumedang Regency Government provides direction and oversight to ensure alignment with the regency’s smart city roadmap.
EDOTCO Indonesia’s role focuses on delivering the physical foundation; ensuring the structure is safe, reliable, and ready for the installation of smart systems such as CCTV cameras, environmental sensors, digital displays, and EV charging point.
“This initiative is more than just technology, it’s about creating meaningful impact for the people of Sumedang,” said the Commercial Director and Head of Business Development of EDOTCO Indonesia.
“Our role is to provide a strong, reliable foundation that allows innovations to take shape. Together, we are building an ecosystem where infrastructure and intelligence work hand in hand to improve lives,” he added.
EDOTCO Indonesia’s involvement in the Smart Pole project reflects its broader commitment to supporting Indonesia’s digital transformation. The company continues to provide scalable and sustainable infrastructure that can evolve with new technologies, from conventional towers to next-generation smart structures.
By constructing and preparing the Smart Pole for integration, EDOTCO helps ensure that Sumedang’s smart city ambitions are not only visionary but also technically ready for growth.
“It’s an honor to support Sumedang in advancing public services, increasing productivity, and improving safety through smart infrastructure. With strong collaboration between technology and infrastructure partners, we are shaping how smart cities can serve citizens better,” said Joseph Lumban Gaol, President Director of PT Alita Praya Mitra.
The Smart Pole initiative builds on earlier national efforts in Ibu Kota Nusantara (IKN) and Labuan Bajo, where integrated infrastructure was introduced to support mobility, environment, and public services.
In Sumedang, the concept takes on a local focus. Once the technology components are installed, the Smart Pole will act as a hub for surveillance, public communication, and environmental monitoring, all connected to the Sumedang Command Center and Emergency Service 112.
For EDOTCO Indonesia, this collaboration is a clear example of how shared expertise drives meaningful progress. Its engineering and infrastructure capabilities complement the technological strengths of partners like Alita and the leadership of the local government, ensuring the project stands on a solid, future-ready foundation.
“Smart cities are built not only through technology, but through shared purpose. Sumedang’s Digital Region vision reflects the kind of forward-thinking leadership Indonesia needs, and we are proud to play our part in enabling it. As Indonesia’s next-generation TowerCo, EDOTCO Indonesia is committed to providing clean, reliable, and future-ready digital infrastructure that strengthens public services, grows local economies, and enhances the quality of life for citizens. Together with our partners, we aim to help every city unlock its full potential in the digital era,” said Fauziah Abdulah, President Director of EDOTCO Indonesia
As smart city projects continue to expand across Indonesia, EDOTCO Indonesia remains focused on its role as an enabler; providing the strong, sustainable infrastructure that allows technology to work seamlessly. The Smart Pole in Sumedang is one of many efforts to strengthen the digital backbone of communities.
EDOTCO Group remains committed to partnering with governments and industry players across Asia to build smarter, greener, and more inclusive infrastructure, ensuring that every connection contributes to lasting progress.
