EDOTCO Group proudly added another accolade to its growing list of achievements by securing the “Partnership for the Goals Recognition” at the UNGCMYB Forward Faster Sustainability Awards 2024. The award ceremony, hosted by the United Nations Global Compact Malaysia & Brunei (UNGCMYB) at the Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur, celebrated organisations making remarkable strides in sustainability.

Competing against 25 esteemed nominees, EDOTCO was honored for its innovative and collaborative engagement with its vendors and suppliers—an effort that aligns seamlessly with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).

Accepting the “Partnership for the Goals Recognition” award on behalf of EDOTCO was Yazmin Islahudin, representing the company’s Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) team. Also in attendance was Admen Hassan, Head of SME Academy, whose leadership in the VDP was instrumental in shaping its success.

EDOTCO’s dedication to ethical governance was also acknowledged during the awards. The company was shortlisted in the Anti-Corruption category, which saw participation from 16 other nominees. The nomination itself is a significant milestone, reflecting EDOTCO’s unwavering commitment to transparency and integrity.

At the heart of EDOTCO’s win lies its groundbreaking Vendor Development Program (VDP). Designed to elevate the vendor capabilities and embedding sustainability practices, the program is a testament to EDOTCO’s commitment to shared value growth and operational excellence.

The VDP brings together multiple EDOTCO teams, including those in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG), Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), Business Continuity Management (BCM), and Integrity. This multidisciplinary approach ensures a comprehensive and impactful initiative that benefits all stakeholders.

Complementing the VDP is the VDP ESG Level Up Series, conducted in partnership with CEDAR. This initiative empowers vendors to adopt robust ESG frameworks, promoting sustainable practices that ripple across the supply chain.

The discussion centered on actionable strategies to reduce carbon emissions while navigating the complex dynamics of an industry heavily reliant on energy-intensive infrastructure.

This roundtable marked a significant milestone in advancing industry dialogue on policy challenges and sustainability. By bringing together diverse perspectives, EDOTCO highlighted the importance of cross-sector collaboration in overcoming barriers to decarbonisation, such as transitioning from legacy systems to sustainable alternatives and integrating renewable energy solutions into existing frameworks.
