EDOTCO Philippines Joins Takbo Para Sa Kalikasan: Air Run 2024
EDOTCO Philippines recently participated in Takbo Para Sa Kalikasan: Air Run 2024, where we’re not just running for wellness but for the future of our environment. By participating, we’re supporting our mission to protect bird habitats and restore biodiversity across the nation—taking steps toward a greener, more sustainable tomorrow.
The exciting event at Liwasang Ulalim, CCP Complex in Pasay City blends the promotion of health and fitness with environmental advocacy. As part of the third element series under Takbo Para Sa Kalikasan, this year’s run calls on participants to not only prioritize their well-being but also actively contribute to the preservation of bird species and their habitats across the Philippines.
Organized by Green Media Events Co., the run will support the Haribon Foundation, an organization at the forefront of nature conservation. The funds raised through this initiative will be channelled into Haribon’s Restoration Projects and their ongoing efforts to safeguard bird diversity nationwide.
Falling under EDOTCO’s Tower2Community program, which aims to foster positive engagement with the communities where it operates, EDOTCO Philippines is sending 107 volunteers to the run, including employees and their family members. Their participation reflects the company's strong commitment to holistic corporate social responsibility (CSR), where environmental sustainability is intertwined with community well-being.
“At EDOTCO, we believe that our responsibility extends beyond providing innovative digital infrastructure. We are equally committed to nurturing the environments and communities we serve. Our participation in Air Run 2024 reflects this commitment,” said Suraj Narayanan Kutty, EDOTCO Philippines’ Country Managing Director.
“We see the connection between digital connectivity and environmental sustainability. Just as our towers enable seamless communication, we want to ensure that our actions support a seamless balance in nature. This is why we are honored to be part of initiatives like Air Run 2024,” he further explained.
Birds play a crucial role in maintaining ecological balance, and protecting their natural habitats is essential for sustaining biodiversity. Through this event, EDOTCO Philippines aims to amplify the importance of preserving bird habitats as part of the larger ecosystem, encouraging the public to take an active role in supporting conservation efforts.
Air Run 2024 calls attention to the challenges facing bird species across the country—particularly deforestation and habitat loss, which threaten the survival of many native species. By participating, runners are not just promoting personal health and wellness but are also raising awareness of the vital need to protect the biodiversity of the Philippines.
The Haribon Foundation’s Restoration Projects focus on replanting native trees, restoring damaged forests, and providing safe habitats for various bird species. Funds raised from the event will contribute directly to these initiatives, ensuring that endangered birds and other wildlife can thrive in their natural environments.
As part of EDOTCO’s broader mission to make a positive impact, this collaboration with Air Run 2024 and the Haribon Foundation highlights the company's commitment to integrating environmental responsibility into its business practices. This involvement aligns with EDOTCO’s vision of creating sustainable, long-term value for both its employees and the communities it serves.
Together, we can create a lasting impact, ensuring that our “happy place” remains a thriving environment where both people and nature can flourish. Let’s make every step count—not just for our personal wellness, but for the planet.
