At Pehli Kiran School in Islamabad, education is more than lessons on a chalkboard; it is a lifeline to opportunity. Many of the children who walk through its gates come from families where daily priorities are shaped by necessity, and school supplies are often an unaffordable extra.

Recognising this reality, EDOTCO returned to the school this year with a simple but meaningful goal: to ensure that 660 students have the tools they need to learn with confidence and dignity. Through the donation of essential learning items, the initiative equipped students with school bags, stationery, geometry sets, colouring materials, and creative learning tools identified by teachers as vital for classroom participation.

Building on a Partnership Rooted in Real Needs

The programme builds on EDOTCO’s engagement with Pehli Kiran School for several years now, when winter uniforms and sweaters were provided to protect students during the colder months.

That effort was complemented by a session led by an Occupational Health & Safety specialist on personal hygiene and winter wellness, helping children develop habits that safeguard their health. The continuity between the two years reflects a partnership rooted in listening to the school’s evolving needs rather than offering one-time gestures.

Held on Wednesday, 4 February 2026, the event brought together the EDOTCO team and the dedicated staff of Pehli Kiran in a shared celebration of learning. Volunteers spent the morning with the students, handing out supplies, talking about their favourite subjects, and hearing dreams that ranged from becoming teachers and doctors to cricketers and engineers. The excitement in the classrooms was a reminder that encouragement can be as valuable as any material gift.

Connecting Communities Beyond Infrastructure

Teachers at the school noted how access to proper materials immediately changes a child’s relationship with education. When every student has their own notebook and bag, lessons become more engaging, and no one feels singled out for what they lack. Confidence grows quietly but visibly, through neater handwriting, completed homework, and the willingness to raise a hand in class.

For EDOTCO, the initiative reflects a broader belief that community development must walk hand in hand with the company’s role in building digital infrastructure in the countries in which we operate. Connectivity is not only about networks and towers; it is also about connecting people to possibilities. Supporting education strengthens the communities where EDOTCO operates and helps create conditions where future generations can participate in a digital and knowledge-driven world.

As the day concluded, students filed out of the hall clutching new bags filled with colourful supplies. For many, it was the first time they owned learning materials of their own. One student smiled shyly and said she could not wait to show her parents what she had received. Moments like these carry a quiet power—they affirm that someone believes in these children and their right to learn.

EDOTCO’s partnership with Pehli Kiran School will continue to grow, guided by the same principle that shaped this year’s effort: meaningful impact begins by understanding real needs.
