EDOTCO Indonesia Celebrates Kartini Day 2024
In a society where it is easy to overlook women achievements, it is refreshing to be in a country where they heralded their female hero – Raden Ajeng Kartini, or usually known as Ibu Kartini every 21st April.
Celebrated across Indonesia, the Indonesian holiday is celebrated as a tribute to their national figure. In her lifetime, Ibu Kartini has advocated for women’s rights and education.
In our efforts to celebrate the day, EDOTCO Champions have decided to wear traditional clothes for the day. The women dressed up in kebaya, meanwhile the men wore traditional Betawi costume.
For Indonesians, Kartini Day is a time to celebrate and promote women’s right and female empowerment. Citing a EDOTCO Champion, “it is thanks to Ibu Kartini that women of today in Indonesia can work, chasing their dreams, express their creative ideas, channel their talents, and express their thoughts.”
May the spirit of Ibu Kartini continues to inspire EDOTCO Champions to take charge and drive changes in #ConnectingTheUnconnected and #ShapingFutureConnectivity in Indonesia.
