EDOTCO Indonesia Addressing Community Well-Being with Tower2Water Initiative
As a responsible corporate citizen, EDOTCO Indonesia is committed to playing its part in improving the local communities and their well-being. At EDOTCO, one of the methods is by conducting the Tower2Water initiative, providing clean water via reverse osmosis (RO) systems for the community, and conducting a hygiene awareness program.
In a remarkable demonstration of corporate social responsibility (CSR), EDOTCO Indonesia collaborated with Inisiatif Zakat Indonesia for a joint Tower2Water and Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) in School program. The program aims to provide sustainable access to clean and safe water to the residents of Tajur Village in West Java, Indonesia.

Azizee Abdul Aziz, EDOTCO Indonesia’s Director of Engineering & Operations said this is about time to give back to the community. He has been overseeing the company’s growth since its start in 2022. The company is committed to providing the community with reliable telecommunications infrastructure, improving the quality of life, and building a better future together.
“So, this is one of the projects, one of the many projects that we plan to do in Indonesia, Tower2Water. And I think in the future we’re going to do more similar projects or maybe other types of projects that should benefit the people."
By focusing on innovative technologies and strategic partnerships, the project not only addresses water scarcity but also enhances community well-being. Indirectly, this will contribute significantly to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDG) number 6, which refers to clean water and sanitation.

Nestled in the sub-district of Bogor Regency, Tajur Village is home to around 60 to 70 families. Currently, these families depend on shallow waterholes, approximately 15 metres deep, which unfortunately often dry up during periods of low rainfall.
Recognizing the urgent need for a sustainable solution, EDOTCO Indonesia initiated the project as its first major CSR initiative. An assessment was conducted using advanced water detection technology, which revealed a deeper and more reliable water source at 60 to 70 metres depth. This discovery laid the groundwork for a project that promises to transform lives by providing consistent access to clean water.
“This construction process went through a long road, starting with deciding the drilling point with the most water debit, permission with the local communities, and other challenges,” Inisiatif Zakat Indonesia’ Director Deddy Felanosa.
In hopes of further empowering the community, the program also aims to improve the quality of life for the residents of Tajur Village. By ensuring a steady supply of clean water, the project would improve health and hygiene by providing clean water, reducing waterborne diseases, supporting social and educational services, and boosting economic stability by enabling farmers to maintain crops and livestock during dry spells.
Besides that, the Tower2Water program also integrated Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) initiatives, ensuring clean water, promoting hygiene through training sessions and hygiene kits, and increasing accessibility by bringing water closer to homes, improving overall quality of life.
In addition, our employees also had the initiative to donate to the community. For two weeks, we raised funds as well as items such as books and clothes that can be used well by the families in Desa Tajur.
Not to mention, the project is also a collaborative effort with local authorities and community leaders to ensure its success and sustainability. The designated drilling site in Tajur Village provided an ideal location for potential sites, including the Mushollah area.
On top of that, EDOTCO Indonesia also enhanced occupational health and safety (OHS) standards in local schools through safety training, safety equipment provision, and regular health check-ups, ensuring a safe and conducive learning environment.

This program is not just a CSR; it is also a lifeline for the Tajur Village residents. By addressing the critical need for clean water, the project significantly enhances health, hygiene, and economic stability. Furthermore, the integration of WASH initiatives and OHS standards in schools' underscores EDOTCO Indonesia’s comprehensive approach to community development.
Overall, this pioneering effort stands as a powerful testament to the impact of the CSR program. It promises to not only meet immediate needs but also lay a foundation for sustained community well-being, driving positive change, and fostering resilience for future generations.
