With a deep-rooted commitment to the nation’s development, EDOTCO is supporting and driving the digital transformation that will shape Malaysia’s future.
In our beloved Malaysia, unity is our strength, and connectivity is the thread that binds us. From bustling cities to serene rural villages, EDOTCO’s extensive network of telecommunications towers and small cells brings high-speed internet to all Malaysians, no matter where they live.
It is more than just building infrastructure. It is about fostering unity and ensuring every Malaysian can participate in the digital revolution. EDOTCO is bridging the digital divide, empowering every Malaysian to access the wealth of knowledge, services, and opportunities the digital era provides. This commitment reflects the company's deep respect for Malaysia's diverse heritage and highlights its determination to ensure no one is left behind.

EDOTCO has been a crucial partner in the rollout of JENDELA, a flagship initiative by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), particularly in deploying telecommunications towers in rural and underserved areas. JENDELA represents Malaysia’s ambitious plan to enhance nationwide connectivity by providing faster and more reliable internet access.
EDOTCO was awarded 258 tower sites during Phase 1 of JENDELA, contributing to the rapid enhancement of mobile and broadband coverage for 6 Malaysian States. Notably, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, and Kedah have achieved 100% of their targeted coverage, with the remaining states gearing up for the finish line.
EDOTCO’s involvement in the JENDELA initiative exemplifies its commitment to Malaysia’s digital future. By working closely with the government and other stakeholders, EDOTCO has successfully accelerated the deployment of critical infrastructure. Not only has this collaboration boosted connectivity, but it has also catalyzed economic growth in rural areas, where businesses and communities now have access to the digital tools required for development.
Moreover, EDOTCO is a key player in Malaysia’s 5G rollout. Partnering with Digital Nasional Berhad (DNB), EDOTCO has deployed some of the fastest 5G infrastructure in the world. The number of sites awarded to EDOTCO for 5G deployment highlights the company's vital role in ensuring that Malaysia's population has access to next-generation connectivity. In 2023, EDOTCO achieved 80% of 5G coverage in populated areas of Malaysia and delivered 1,826 tenants to DNB.
As Malaysia aspires to be a global leader in the digital economy, EDOTCO is laying the groundwork for world-class next-generation infrastructure. EDOTCO is instrumental in supporting the development of various projects and digital initiatives beyond traditional telecommunications towers.
Through the deployment of smart poles and IoT solutions, EDOTCO has contributed to the city’s goal of becoming a smart, sustainable, and livable metropolis. These smart poles integrate telecommunications, lighting, surveillance, and environmental sensors, creating a multipurpose infrastructure that supports various smart city applications.
The smart city initiatives in Kuala Lumpur, supported by EDOTCO, are transforming the way residents and businesses interact with their environment. The smart poles not only enhance connectivity but also provide increased public safety, energy efficiency, and environmental monitoring.
EDOTCO is collaborating with Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL) to establish smart street furniture that integrates telecommunications, lighting, and environmental sensors. This infrastructure is designed to enhance the digital experience in urban areas across Malaysia.
EDOTCO is also upgrading in-building connectivity at major landmarks, such as updating the Bukit Jalil National Stadium with state-of-the-art digital infrastructure. This project is the first of its kind and part of a broader effort to create a seamless and immersive digital experience for Malaysians, whether they are attending a major sporting event or simply walking through the city.
The Bukit Jalil National Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. With a capacity of 87,500, it is the largest stadium in Southeast Asia, the fourth largest in Asia, and the fifteenth largest in the world.
EDOTCO envisions next-generation infrastructure not merely as a connectivity solution, but to improve the quality of life for every Malaysian, in any environment.
Starting in 2018, EDOTCO has focused on improving and maintaining Malaysia’s biodiversity by planting trees and plants. In 2023, they planted 1,117 trees, contributing to a total sum of over 45,000 trees and plants planted by EDOTCO.
EDOTCO has also been partnering with the Malaysian Nature Society (MNS) for various CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives. A standout project from this is EDOTCO, the first Tower Company in Asia to pledge to protect endangered birds nesting on its towers, which 42 eagles have been sighted residing on this year.
EDOTCO’s towers were also retrofitted for climate monitoring through its partnership with the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia). Three EDOTCO towers were identified and equipped with greenhouse gas (GHG) monitoring systems, incorporating sensors for carbon dioxide, methane, and carbon monoxide.
Additionally, EDOTCO’s Green Tower initiative has become a shining example of how the company is leading the way in sustainable infrastructure development. By integrating renewable energy sources like solar power into its towers, EDOTCO is reducing its carbon footprint while ensuring that Malaysia’s digital growth does not come at the expense of our environment.
These initiatives are clear examples of how technological development and environmental stewardship can go hand in hand, supporting both economic and sustainable growth in Malaysia. Our goal is to further improve and expand upon our tower capabilities, going beyond connectivity to fulfill our role as a guardian of Mother Earth.
EDOTCO’s impact on Malaysia’s digital economy goes beyond infrastructure—it touches every corner of daily life. Through strategic partnerships, such as with ChargeSini for future renewable energy solutions, MDEC for driving the digital economy, and Boost for elevating financial inclusion, EDOTCO is ensuring that Malaysians benefit from the latest technological advancements.
The partnership with ChargeSini aligns with the national agenda outlined in the Low Carbon Mobility Blueprint 2021-2030, aiming to install 10,000 public EV charging stations by 2025. This marks a significant step towards achieving Malaysia’s ambitious environmental and sustainability goals, aiming to install EV charging stations at more than 200 potential in-building locations and poles nationwide, leveraging EDOTCO's existing footprint in the next two years.
EDOTCO's extensive experience in telecommunications infrastructure positions it as a key player in providing power connectivity and securing parking bays at selected sites, ensuring a seamless integration of EV charging stations into its existing infrastructure.
As an infrastructure ecosystem partner for Malaysia's digital initiatives, EDOTCO will play an active role in creating a reliable, future-ready digital infrastructure foundation for Malaysia’s digital economy. This includes providing 4G and 5G in-building connectivity for cities and cybercentres, as well as alternative connectivity solutions such as deploying low-orbit satellites and sustainable smart city solutions.
EDOTCO is also uniquely positioned to support the Malaysian tech ecosystem with its innovative Network Planning and Analytics (NaPA) capabilities, offering enhanced network planning, data-driven decision-making, optimised network performance, and improved service quality. By ensuring the availability of advanced connectivity infrastructure, startups and innovators can focus on continuing to develop innovative technologies and services that can better serve both urban and rural communities, driving further growth in across the digital economy.
One such partnership, with Boost, focuses on financial inclusion, providing innovative digital financial services to underserved communities. By making digital tools accessible to all, EDOTCO empowers Malaysians to take control of their economic futures.
These collaborations underscore EDOTCO’s commitment to ensuring that the digital economy benefits everyone, from the bustling cities to the remote villages, embodying the spirit of unity and progress that defines our nation.
EDOTCO’s role in Malaysia’s digital economy is a source of national pride. As a company born on Malaysian soil, EDOTCO’s contributions to our nation’s progress are profound and far-reaching.
