EDOTCO Bangladesh has partnered with the High Commission of Malaysia in Dhaka to support digital learning access for underprivileged girls, contributing to a community upliftment initiative under the Embassy’s CSR programme. Through this collaboration, EDOTCO Bangladesh donated ten refurbished laptops, which were subsequently handed over to the residents of EDAS Tashfia Sharar Dream Homes, an orphanage dedicated exclusively to girls.

The initiative reflects a shared commitment to ensuring that digital access reaches those who need it most, particularly young learners navigating an increasingly technology-driven education environment.

Creating Access to Learning Beyond the Classroom

Located in Uttara Sector 5, Dhaka, EDAS Tashfia Sharar Dream Homes operates under the Tashfia Sharar Memorial Trust and serves as a safe residential learning space for around 80 orphaned girls aged between 8 and 18. Beyond providing shelter, the home offers a holistic development framework that includes formal education in both English and Bangla medium, nutritional support, religious education, life-skills development, and vocational training.

As Bangladesh’s education ecosystem continues to evolve digitally, access to reliable learning tools has become essential. The donated laptops will enable the girls to engage in online learning, access educational resources, develop basic ICT competencies, and build confidence in navigating digital platforms — critical skills for their academic progression and future independence.

A Collaborative Effort for Meaningful Impact

The laptop handover ceremony was held on 9 December and attended by His Excellency Mohd Shuhada Othman, High Commissioner of Malaysia to Bangladesh, along with officials from the Malaysian High Commission and representatives from the Malaysian Women’s Association. Mr. Sunil Issac, Country Managing Director of EDOTCO Bangladesh, attended the event as Special Guest, reinforcing the company’s commitment to partnerships that create tangible community impact.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Sunil Issac said: “At EDOTCO, we believe that connectivity and digital access must benefit every segment of society, especially children who deserve equal opportunities to learn and thrive.”

“Our contribution to EDAS Tashfia Sharar Dream Homes reflects our commitment to fostering digital inclusion and supporting communities in meaningful ways. We are honoured to collaborate with the High Commission of Malaysia in an initiative that empowers young girls with the tools they need to build a brighter future,” he added

Through this collaboration, EDOTCO Bangladesh continues to play a role in enabling digital participation while supporting initiatives that strengthen education, inclusion, and long-term resilience within the communities it serves.
