Last week, EDOTCO Group paid a working visit to its National Tower Company (NTC), EDOTCO Pakistan. It was a packed 5-day full of stakeholders' engagements, internal meetings and networking sessions.

The delegation consisted of Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO); Adlan Tajudin, Group Chief Financial Officer; Annis Sheikh Mohammed, Director, Engineering Technology & Innovation; Pradeep de Almeida, Director Group Brand Communications; Noreen Sabrina Mohd Noor, and Senior Specialist Group Communications & Government Partnership; Sabrina Long.

They were welcomed by the EDOTCO Pakistan’s Country Managing Director; Abdul Aziz and EDOTCO Pakistan team.

One of the key agenda was a meeting with the Minister of State for IT and Telecom (MoITT) Pakistan, Shaza Fatima. The meeting was also attended by Additional Secretary of MoITT; Aisha Humera Moriani, Chief Executive Officer of National Information Technology Board (NITB); Babar Majeed Bhatti, Member of Telecom; Muhammad Jahanzeb Rahim, and DG International Coordination; Syed Jawwad Ali Sherazi.

The meeting centered around matters focusing on telecom infrastructure and digitalization initiatives in Pakistan. The Minister highlighted the government's commitment to providing quality broadband and Internet services to the masses, emphasizing the significant role of the IT and telecom sector in the country's economic uplift. She expressed hope for further foreign investment, citing the conducive atmosphere for foreign investment.

The delegation acknowledged the Ministry's commendable efforts in promoting the IT and telecom sector. EDOTCO Group expressed their desire to contribute to the digitalization process.

Other than that, the delegation also visited other stakeholders such as the Chairman of the Pakistan Telecommunications Authority; Major General (R) Hafeez Ur Rehman, President and Group CEO of PTCL & Ufone; Hatem Bamatraf, CEO of Jazz; Aamir Hafeez Ibrahim, and Deputy High Commissioner of Malaysia; En. Syafiq Firdaus.

Adding a touch of social responsibility, the delegation was thrilled to participate in a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity at Pehli Kiran School. This initiative aims to distribute ceiling fans and pedestal fans to the school, alongside cleaning activities, ensuring the well-being of children during the sweltering summer days. The CSR activity benefited over 100 teachers and students, as well as over 400 beneficiaries.

This working visit marks a significant step towards advancing telecom infrastructure and digitalization efforts in Pakistan, demonstrating the dedication of EDOTCO Group. We're committed in leading Pakistan towards an equitable next generation connectivity for all.
