Development and Execution of Pricing Strategy

  • Develop Pricing Strategy within the company with the collaboration of Sales & Marketing and Malaysia Ventures teams, as well as other relevant business/functional teams
  • Define minimum return thresholds for products and services
  • Define commercial terms such as escalators and lock-in periods applicable
  • Analyse market conditions and competitor offerings
  • Improvise pricing strategy proactively to ensure latest technology and market developments are reflected
  • Review and analyse pricing and commercial proposal from customers, and establish counter-proposal, if necessary for onward negotiation and closure of deals

Development and Management of Pricing Templates (in line with guideline from Group Pricing & Commercial)

  • Develop standard pricing templates for products and services
  • Develop standard guidelines for pricing template development
  • Review pricing templates quarterly and ensure all parameters are up to date

New Product and Service Pricing

  • Identify cost relevant to new products and services
  • Support product development
  • Develop business cases based on market forecast and cost of product/service provision
  • Ensure minimum return targets are achieved
  • Define commercial terms such as annual escalators, lock-in periods, cost thresholds

Pricing Related Ad Hoc Analysis

  • Carry out analysis related to pricing based on management and business request
    • Price yield analysis
    • Price comparison analysis
    • Competitor offering analysis
    • Market and industry analysis

Responsible for Financial Modelling and Analytics in Support of Bite Sized Initiatives including Mergers & Acquisition, New Businesses and Local Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Malaysia Ventures team and any other relevant business teams to develop financial evaluation model in support of local bite sized acquisition of Assets and Equity as well as other new business ventures and collaborative initiatives
  • Provide analysis and ad-hoc support for any request to perform benchmarking exercise and preparation of reports and approval papers to management and Board of Directors


Qualifications & Experience

  • Qualified Accountant, Finance Professional or equivalent in one or more national jurisdictions (e.g. CPA/MIA/ACCA in Malaysia)
  • Bachelors Level Degree or higher in Business, Accounting, Finance or Engineering from a recognized local or international university
  • Masters Level Degree in Business, Finance or Technology (MBA, MBM, MFM) or equivalent from a recognized local or international university would be an added advantage
  • Other related qualifications such as Certified Financial Analyst, Certified Financial Advisor, etc. would be preferred
  • 3 – 5 years of experience on a similar discipline is preferred, with right skill set on analytics (to go through finance and strategy related written assessment)

Skills and Knowledge

  • Understanding and knowledge of the following:
    • Telecommunications Operators/Communications Service Providers key business and financial drivers, network infrastructure support requirements
    • Marketing, demand forecasting, consumer trends in the telecommunications industries in developing countries and markets
  • Highly skilled in Microsoft Excel®, Microsoft PowerPoint®, and other related software tools for running business models, plans, analysis, scenario analysis etc.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with shifting priorities in a real-time environment
  • Ability to motivate teams to produce quality services and materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects
  • Willingness to work on a flexible schedule
  • Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Fluency in English
