edotco Malaysia with Majlis Agama Islam dan Adat Istiadat Melayu Perlis Lend a Hand to the Less Fortunate in Perlis Through “Kayuhan MAIPs Peduli Bersama edotco Malaysia”
Perlis, 10 August 2017

Three Rumah Asnaf in Perlis received a boost to their situation when participants of Kayuhan MAIPs Peduli Bersama edotco Malaysia comprising edotco Malaysia’s regional staff and Majlis Agama Islam dan Adat Istiadat Melayu Perils (MAIPs) paid them a visit on 10 August.

The Kayuhan MAIPs Peduli Bersama edotco Malaysia programme was led by Duli Yang Teramat Mulia Tuanku Raja Muda Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Ibni Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Jamalullail, and aimed at highlighting and alleviating the plight of the less fortunate in the northern most state in Peninsular Malaysia.

Working in tandem, cash and food hampers were distributed to the 56 orang Asnaf (less fortunate) occupants of the homes by the entourage, who cycled some 20 kilometres.

“One of MAIPs’ mandates is to encourage, assist and drive the economic and social progress and prosperity of the community in Perlis in accordance to Syariah laws. We manage the collection and distribution of zakat to those who require it. Thus, I am pleased that a corporate citizen such as edotco Malaysia is willing to contribute to the welfare and improve the quality of life of the orang Asnaf in Perlis,” remarked DYTM Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Ibni Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Jamalullail.

edotco Malaysia Chief Country Officer, Wan Zainal Adileen said, “We are very pleased to be partnering MAIPs in this meaningful gesture. As part of a regional towerco group that powers connectivity, we believe in the need to be connected to our local communities and their needs as well. This Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative fits into our corporate culture of caring and contributing to the betterment of lives.”

Kayuhan MAIPs Peduli is the brainchild of the Raja Muda Perlis and is one of their numerous ongoing programmes to help the less fortunate in Perlis. This round of initiative brought the total number of Rumah Asnaf helped through Kayuhan MAIPs Peduli to 43 homes.
